THe eND oF a BLog & THe BeGiNNiNG oF a NeW aDVeNTuRe...

I am sad to bid this blog adieu, but I must say farewell as I have upgraded to a Typepad blog. You can visit it here:
http://komiscouture.typepad.com
I hope you will follow me from this blog to my new one, as my posts will have the same content but more photographs, longer posts and more frequently updated posts. I want to share more of my life through pictures and tales, and I feel that I haven't quite reached my potential here. I do love Blogger, but I think that Typepad is better suited for me. The new blog is titled, "Komis Couture" because that is my new business. I will continue to sell items on Two Pixie Dolls (on ebay) but I am trying to start up my new business at http://komiscouture.bigcartel.com

As most of my previous posts have said, I have a passion for jewelry, so much that I decided it was time to send my pieces out into the world to be shared and enjoyed. I want to thank you for reading and following, and I hope you will come with me on my new journeys through blogland...

I will not post more on this blog, but will leave all previous posts up for future visitors to read and enjoy the photos and posts.
Farewell to Two Pixie Dolls, I am sad to let this piece of myself go, but sometimes you have to lose a bit of yourself to move on and embark on new adventures.

Goodbye, and I hope to see you on my new blog, http://komiscouture.typepad.com

XOXO,
~Krista

*~uNVeiLiNG THe SeCReT JeWeLRY aDVeNTuRe!~*

I'm done! I'm finally done! I'm done with the website, that is! It's been a loooong work in progress for a while now, and I've been putting in some extra long 12 hour days, but I am soo glad it is finally finished!
I may have a gone a little crazy amidst the jewelry making madness, especially since I forgot to eat for 8 hours at a time (oops) but I just couldn't help it, when you get in art mode it's hard to stop!
I want to jump around with glee I'm so happy! I am even happier to be sharing it with you since I always get such sweet and kind words of encouragement in my posts!
Our shop name (my mom and I are collaborating on the business together, just like Two Pixie Dolls!) is.....*drumroll please..* Komis Couture!
You can visit our shop here: http://komiscouture.bigcartel.com/
Our items are available for viewing and purchasing there.
Here are our pieces!
"Golden Goddess"
Each jewelry piece is different. We have necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Some jewelry pieces are very heavy and have loads of charms and tokens, while some are simpler and more elegant. Some necklaces are long and some are shorter.
"Crystal Queen"

We use modern and vintage jewelry pieces in most of our work. I love the way it looks when you blend both, it's a bit of the past meeting the present. Something magical happens when the two combine...
"Key to Dreamland"
"The Black Tie Affair"
We use black, white, silver, gold, and many different colors in our work, because everyone has a different personality and individual style.
"Heart's Desire"
"Sea Mist"
"Classic Elegance"
The beautiful thing about jewelry is that no matter what size or shape you are, no matter your nationality or background...every woman loves to wear jewelry, (some guys look great in it too!) and jewelry always fits.
"A Birdling's Flight"
"Keys of a Mermaid Queen"
We've created collections for all of our works, including The Princess, Glamour Queen, Adventurous, Sea Queen and Classic Collection(s).
"The Pink Princess"
"Enchantress"
Each piece tells a tale..of romance, magic and dreaming. It's up to you where you will be taken on your journey...
"Dreamcakes"
"The Secret Door"

"Crowning Glory"
"Crystal Rose"
"Coral Paradise"
"Angel Dust"
"Icy Mint"
"Moonstone"
It is always difficult to let something go when you create, because each piece has a part of you in it. I will be happy to see our pieces go to a good home, and just knowing that someone will wear them with pride is enough for me. It touches my heart to know that across the world there are people wearing, enjoying and sharing something that I took the time to create. I appreciate more than I could ever tell you.
"Siren Song"
"Flutter"
"Wild Woman"

"Blooming Posies"
"Love Potion"
"The Bittersweet Romance"

Blogging will always be a part of my life because through it I can express my feelings and my artworks. I write for myself, as it is a kind of therapy and a diary of sorts. When people comment and write to me with their thoughts and compliments it brightens my day and gives me hope. In this busy world if we could all just stop for a moment and take a piece of time out of our day to share a kind word or thought, everyone would be so much happier and at peace.

Thank you for spending time out of your day to hear what I have to say...it does make a difference, and it makes dreams start to come true...

XOXO,

~Krista

*~JeWeLRy QUeeN~*

I am just popping in for a quick post, lots to do! I have been endlessly busy creating jewelry, tags, ordering business cards, photographing...
For what, you ask? Well..I have a bit of a surprise for you..
I have my own website! Well, a website of sorts. I am going to be selling my jewelry and hopefully it will be a seperate business from Two Pixie Dolls, I would like to switch over and be a full time jewelry designer!
The necklace in these pictures is one of my overly extravagant ones..don't worry, the ones for sale won't be this wild. This one is just for me.
I have the site set up and am putting elegant jewelry pieces on it. I can't tell you the name yet though, you'll have to wait and see. I would like to have at least 15 jewelry pieces on the site before I let you take a peek..right now I only have 2 pieces!
I love making jewelry, it is my ultimate passion.
What I will say, is that there will be 'collections'...something for everyone. All of my jewelry is very elegant and upscale, but I do have a collection with more affordable pricing for those of you who want to look glamorous..on a budget. I can't wait to tell you all about it!
XOXO,
~Krista
P.S. I might not post for a while, but don't worry, I'm just buried in my work...I keep crossing things off the list only to add more! *sigh* But I'm loving every moment of it.

a TaLe oF a BiRDLiNG's NeST & a SWeeT DoLLy DReaMHouSe

I could not have been more excited and ecstatic than today, when I spotted this incredible birdie cage. I have always been fascinated and in loooove with bird cages, for they serve more purpose than just to house sweet little birdies...you can use them to decorate your home, house your collections; even for having parties outside, one would make a great centerpiece.
I love how each one is different, but I especially adore how this one's still dusty and a little worn, it makes it distinguished, and I know that no one else has the same exact one. It is reminiscent of "The Series of Unfortunate Events" movie, in which case I am referring to the children's belongings and how they must 'recycle' simple objects, hence giving them a magical quality.
How could I say no to an $8 price tag? No, I just simply couldn't. I knew that if I walked away from this, I would regret it and wonder what would have come of that magnificent bird cage.
Its rounded windows make me daydream of store windows full of beautiful clothes and pretty packages tied with oversized ribbons.
I have other bird cages, but none like this one. It almost makes me wish I owned birds! But, I am a cat lover, and although I adore birds and their sweet songs they sing, I know that their poor little hearts couldn't handle being around my kitties.
I wish I were as small as Alice was in Wonderland after she drank from the potion, just so I could peek inside. That reminds me, have you seen the trailer for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (debuts in theatres March 2010)? It is exquisite, and all of the actors are perfect in their roles. Johnny Depp, I must point out, is the absolute perfect Mad Hatter, he is lovely and gorgeous and a little crazy, but so so talented. It's absolute torture waiting until March to see the film!
I found a place on my vanity for the birdcage, and it is appropriately nestled in to it's new spot. I think it fits right in. It's funny how it seems no matter how many things I pack into this haven of mine, it is never too full. There's always room for more treasures and tiny friends.
I may not have birdies to place inside, but there is someone small enough to take a peek...
Her hands may just be tiny enough to pick the lock on the caged door.
Shall we take a look?
She's a bit timid, but once she gets to know you she won't be so afraid. You may remember her from the Mad Tea Party last month, she played the role of Alice.
Let's see what's behind this closed door...
Well, it appears she won't be coming out anytime soon. I think she quite likes her new home.
So it seems I have turned a birdie's nest into a dolly dreamhouse, perhaps I'll fill it full of sweet lil' dollies, and they can live it up in their new mansion of sorts.
The birdcage bestowed me with a lovely photograph that will be a favorite of mine. I have titled it, "When Heaven rose, it left pieces of magic behind..it left stardust."
XOXO,
~Krista
